One of the great things about Halloween is that we can go shopping for new fancy dress costumes. We don’t need an excuse to buy a costume because, usually, there is nothing in our wardrobe that’s suitable to wear on Halloween night.
It’s a good idea to have a choice of costumes at hand, so you’ll have something to wear for all your parties. Start to build your Halloween wardrobe with a minimum of three costumes: a fun costume, a sexy flirty costume and a costume suitable for trick or treating with your children or younger siblings. It’s worth investing time choosing your clothes. A diverse wardrobe of fancy dress means you’ll never be stuck for something to wear, and better still, you can decide at the last minute what you want to wear.
Fun costumes
There are plenty of fun clothes in the classic film category. Ghostbusters costumes are excellent for singles, couples or group fancy dress. Ladies can choose from the standard outfit or go for a sexier shorter version. If you like the humour in the Batman films, you’ll love the Batman or Batgirl fancy dress costumes. The men can show off a muscled chest and the girl superheroes get to wear a black caped dress and bat mask. A cat costume is a really popular outfit choice for women, so why not try a Catwoman costume from Batman. Or if you fancy an outfit you can wear for any fancy dress party, throughout the year and at Halloween, a Captain Jack Sparrow and any of his Pirates are a great addition to your collection. Use plenty of dark and brooding make-up for Halloween and play it down a little for regular fancy dress parties.
Sexy costumes
Many categories of Halloween costumes have a sexy version, including witches, vampires, fallen angels and nurses. Decide what style you want to wear and which accessories. If you want to wear a pair of long leather boots, go for a sexy Vampire costume or fallen angel. The black boots complement short flowing costumes beautifully and add the finishing touch to a wicked Witch outfit. If you’re a dedicated follower of TV Vampire characters, a vampire costume is perfect. Dark and sinister, the Mens costume will suit any personality. Add a black wig and some pale make-up, but don’t overdo the fake blood if you want to keep the sexy, brooding vampire look.
Trick or treating costumes
Character costumes and Animal fancy dress costumes are fabulous for trick or treating. You don’t even have to go outside to wear a costume. Wear one to answer the door to all your excited callers! Cats, bats, and owl costumes are all suitable and the kids will love them. Early evening costumes include fairies, angels, witches, wizards and vampires. Star wars characters are a fun choice for Halloween and are fabulous as couple or Group Fancy Dress costumes. Buying costumes for trick or treating needs some thought. If you’re going to be cold, buy an outfit that has enough room to wear some warm clothes underneath. You won’t want to spoil your image by wearing overcoats.
Whether it’s a children’s or adults party, it’s important we look our best and feel confident on every occasion, and Halloween is no exception. Buying our Halloween costumes is easy; the only rule is to feel great and look fabulous.
