Angelic Angel or a fantasy Fairy costumes! You’ve chosen your fancy dress outfit! The next step is to decide on your accessories. Make-up, hair and nails. Fancy dress stores have excellent wigs, theatrical make up and nail polish to complete your costume.
Your hairstyle is just as important as your fancy dress costume. If you’ve got a fabulous costume and your hair is frizzy, it will spoil the whole effect! If you’re pushed for time and can’t visit the hairdressers try a wig. Blonde, brunette or red, short, medium or long. Your halo will be silver or white so you can wear a wig of any colour that will make you look heavenly!
Choose the colour to suit your mood. Natural blondes or brunettes try a flaming red wig or raven black. Angels and Fairies have every colour hair! Stay comfy. Don’t wear a long flowing wig to party the night away. It will get extra hot under the wig and you won’t be able to take it off! Unless you want to look more like Morticia than an Angel!
Wear radiant make-up that will light your face up. Fancy dress parties are usually held in the evening so although make-up will be night time, it doesn’t have to be bold. If you have a floaty Fairy costume, wear your make up naturally and in soft hues. If you’ve opted for a dramatic fairy costume like a woodland fancy dress with stripey tights, go a little bolder with the browns, greens or oranges. Fairies need to be glowing and your make-up should suit your costume.
Unless your fancy dress is a fallen angel or sexy Halloween angel wear your make up sparingly. Go for a white shimmering eye colour to match your outfit or soft sheen silvers and golds.
Your angel or fairy costume looks superb. You’ve chosen a wig or your hairdresser knows exactly what hairstyle you want on the day. The next step is nails. Nail polish is easy to find in any colour. If your usual brand doesn’t make the colours you need, check out the fancy dress store offerings.
If you really want to push the boat out, make an appointment with your nail consultant and get some sparkles and glitter. It complements your fairy fancy dress and it’s worth the cost. Angels can wear long fingernails too! Take your angel fancy dress with you so you can decide what nail decoration you want. Your consultant should be willing to help. Whites, silvers and golds are winners.
Plan in advance. Order your wig or make an appointment with your hairdresser. Buy your nail polish or call your nail consultants. A fabulous fancy dress costume deserves fabulous finishing touches. Go ahead and spoil yourself!
