The 70s are a glorious era for sourcing your adult fancy dress. The seventies conjure up images of glam rock, flared jeans with frilly silk shirts, flowing hippy chick outfits and disco divas in slinky Lycra catsuits. Music of the era includes Rod Stewart, the Bee Gees and Abba. Choose from a huge range of styles and sizes, with Accessories such as platform shoes, beads and unisex wigs to finish off your outfits. Comfort and fun are the order of the day for a 70s adult fancy dress costume. If you don’t feel comfortable in the stretchy Lycra disco costumes, go for a long flowing Hippy chick costume. It’s cool and comfortable. Colours are bold and psychedelic, with patterns mainly abstract or floral. Men can wear a Hippy style tunic and frayed flared jeans to complement the ladies’ costumes. Thong style sandals and long strands of thin beads can be worn by both the men and the ladies, and full afro wigs will finish these outfits off nicely. If you don’t fancy a Hippy chick or free love style of outfit, check out the diverse range of costumes from the films. Sizes start from small through to Plus size and full cut, so you’ll find something to suit you. In the seventies Star Wars hit the cinema screens and we were instantly hooked. Costumes include Darth Vader, Princess Leia and Yoda. Accompanying Accessories such as Light sabers and Darth Vader’s raspy voice changer provide excellent entertainment, even for people who aren’t Star Wars fans.
Grease is another 70s iconic film. It brings us both sexy and demure adult fancy dress costumes, with not just Sandy and Danny costumes, but also Frenchy, Rizzo’s Pink Ladies and the T-Birds. Grease topped the charts in 1978, and the hit record ‘You’re the one that I want’ gives us the sexiest Adult Fancy Dress costumes of the show. Sandy’s tight black pants and top, matches Danny’s iconic black jacket and trousers. You can also find the cardigan that Danny’s wearing at the start of the scene in some stores; this is a perfect match to the official red and white Sandy costume with matching pom poms. John Travolta’s Saturday Night Fever gives the guys a chance to wear the sexy white three piece suit. Finish off with a black shirt with huge lapels; preferably open necked showing a fair amount of chest hair. Medallions are optional, and are probably more suited to the Tom Jones fans.
