The nominations for this years Oscars have been announced with the usual controversy and chatter over who was and wasn't included. But what fancy dress opportunities do these new films bring us?
1920's & 1930's glamour - "The Artist" and "Hugo" brings a touch of 1920's & 1930's glamour, even for a black and white movie. Only time will tell if these styles affect upcoming fashion trends but in the mean time check out our 20's outifts or just don that smart suit and tie.
Hawaiian Themes - George Clooney gets his nomination for best Actor in "The Descendants" set in Hawaii. Although not many colourful shirts in the movie, it is still Hawaii so why not get the party going with some hula's and cocktails while dressing up all colourful Hawaiian.
Boxing Gloves - Nick Nolte gets his Supporting Actor Nomination for Warrior in this mixed martial arts movie. All you need are some shiny shorts and gloves, perhaps turn the heating up a little!
The Iron Lady - Love her or hater her, Margaret Thatcher strikes a powerful figure and hunting through the charity shops for a blue dress suit and some pearl earings make for an excellent costume. Create some awesome photo's for the scrap book by having a "Maggie" party where everyone gets dressed up, wigs for the men permitted.
Wizards - Harry Potters latest picture hardly gets a mention this year with only a single nomination for Art Direction. Register your complaint and do it with a noisy wizard party complete with outfits, wands and the occasional wig.
