A men’s 70’s fancy dress is perfect for a 70’s retro or regular fancy dress party.
The guys in the 70’s had just as much fun with clothes and fashion as the Ladies did. Lycra, glitzy shoes, hairy chests, psychedelic printed shirts and trousers were the fashion statements of the 70’s disco king.
A fashionable 70’s disco man wore shiny stretch Lycra bell bottoms or flared trousers, shiny satin shirts and gold medallions. Remember the John Travolta costume of white flares, waistcoat and jacket worn with a black open shirt and white platforms? This is the look you’re after for a perfect 70’s fancy dress costume.
Shirts were worn with at least three buttons opened to display hairy chests. Hairstyles ranged from long and straight, to a tight curly permed look. Black moustaches were all the go.
The men's heart design suit, flares and shirt, will look fabulous at any 70’s fancy dress party. You can mix and match these separates with plain coloured shirts, or flares, to create the ideal men’s 70’s disco costume. Wear the men's heart design flares with the heart design shirt. They look fabulous with an afro wig and white platform shoes. If the heart design shirt is too much for you, team it with a solid colour 70’s deluxe frill shirt and the heart design jacket. The white platforms still look good, or wear platform shoes in black or red to match the disco man’s costume. You can wear the hairy chest wig as an optional extra.
